- I am a self taught artist, having a background as a sign painter and taken a number of courses in fine art in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia and in Toronto. In fall 2007, I participated in a workshop given by the wonderful equine artist, Valerie Hinz. My favorite subjects are horses and other animals, but also landscapes and still life. I am facinated by light and colour.

Cathy, Love the detail in this piece. I can just feel the horse pulling and working. Great job on that gorgeous white coat of the horse. You did wonderfully well with this.
Great job on a difficult subject. Love the shadows on the horse's back.
