Flagler Museum Flamingo

On a recent trip to Florida, I went to the Flagler Museum with my friend Pam. Henry Flagler's railroads and luxury hotels established tourism and agriculture as the mainstays of Florida's economy. Flagler built the 55-room, 60,000-square-foot Gilded Age mansion, Whitehall, as a wedding present for his wife, Mary Lily Kenan Flagler. Visiting the museum was an incredible learning experience.

Gorgeous Florida colors too, Catherine. I like how this lady is standing quite similarly to the way the flamingo is standing in the painting within the painting. Hah! Is this where those pink yard flamingos come from? A truly wonderful painting!
