I am an artist working in oils (for now). I make studies of the qualities light using various subjects that interest me, especially animals, landscapes and still lifes. Art is a lifetime journey.

Hen at the Fair
A little change from horses. When I took my niece to the Caledon Fair, she really enjoyed seeing all the farm animals.
Love the hen, Catherine, but that background is awesome. I'm not sure why but I seem to be noticing the backgrounds painted by oil/acrylic artists lately. Looks like the hens are scratching for food!
I am a self taught artist, having a background as a sign painter and taken a number of courses in fine art in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia and in Toronto. In fall 2007, I participated in a workshop given by the wonderful equine artist, Valerie Hinz.
My favorite subjects are horses and other animals, but also landscapes and still life. I am facinated by light and colour.
