I am an artist working in oils (for now). I make studies of the qualities light using various subjects that interest me, especially animals, landscapes and still lifes. Art is a lifetime journey.
Two swans feeding on Lake Ontario. Every once in a while they stretch their heads down to the lake floor, so all you can see is their bottoms in the air. So cute! They are lovely majestic animals.
This is a quintessential cottage country early morning when the sun is just about to burst into the new day. It is peaceful and still, and full of promise.
These are two little dogs that I walk daily. They love to ride shotgun in my car till we get to the dog park. Maggie is a West Highland White Terrier and Newman is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

An early morning scene at a sailing club in on Lake Ontario. This is part of a series in which I was exploring brushstrokes and colours to depict reflections, and I continue to be fascinated with skies.
I am a self taught artist, having a background as a sign painter and taken a number of courses in fine art in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia and in Toronto. In fall 2007, I participated in a workshop given by the wonderful equine artist, Valerie Hinz.
My favorite subjects are horses and other animals, but also landscapes and still life. I am facinated by light and colour.
